Marty Stuart, born September 30, 1958 in Philadelphia, Mississippi has been playing professionally since his teenage years, joining Lester Flatt's band at the age of 13. Marty went solo in 1985 and has since cut several Top 10 hits, including "Hillbilly Rock" and "Little Things," along with his Top 5 duet with Travis Tritt, "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'." Marty, an avid country music historian, became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1992 and still performs there regularly. He married fellow Opry star in 1997. Marty's just-released CD is Souls' Chapel, an 11-song sacred collection of old classics and new tunes. |
