Phase ! of the Marty Stuart Center is expected to be completed within the next couple of weeks.

The project began in spring 2013 after Neshoba County leaders talked with Stuart about making a permanent home for his memorabilia.

A $1 million grant was approved from the state of Mississippi for the project in 2013 and an additional $500,000 this year.

"We are hoping it's going to be a real nice nucleus to our whole downtown to make it grow and everything," said David Vowell, Community Development Partnership president. "Plus, to honor a guy that is from Philadelphia, loves Philadelphia. He promotes Philadelphia and Mississippi every chance he gets."

The museum will include instruments and stage costumes.

There is no opening date for the museum to open as of yet.
