Total Bummer! Billy Bob Puts Off His Tour

After booking more than a dozen concerts, Billy Bob Thornton has postponed his entire fall tour, including an October date at the Ryman.

The explanation: Billy Bob has too many movies to promote to go on the road in support of his album, Private Radio.

''Considering he has four films to promote, we chose to postpone the tour and add dates to it rather than drop dates, which is what we were going to have to do,'' Billy Bob's manager, Todd Harris, said in a statement.

Among those films: Bandits, with Bruce Willis and Cate Blanchett, and Monsters Ball, with Heath Ledger and Halle Berry.

In a phone interview early this week, Billy Bob told me he was looking forward to the Ryman so he could show off his performing chops to the music industry here.

''Nashville's a town I really want to win over,'' he said. ''The Ryman, it'll probably be the most nervous I'll be.''

Billy Bob's management is trying to reschedule the tour for early next year, but no word on whether they'll be able to schedule another show at the Ryman.
