The Marty Party A Little Too Loud |

Marty Stuart has put together a top-quality traveling museum of country music memorabilia for the Fruit of the Loom Tour. (You know, Travis Tritt, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels and Jo Dee Messina, which plays August 29 at Starwood.)
My favorite item--a letter--comes from Marty himself. In 1982, he was playing in Johnny Cash's band and living in Graycroft Manor Apartments in Madison. "It has been brought to my attention that you have on occasion played your stereo during the late night and early morning hours, the last occasion being on June 30, 1982 at approximately 4 a.m.," the letter from Graycroft management begins. "As your stereo is disturbing your neighbors, we have no alternative but to insist that you not play your stereo after 10 p.m." Marty moved out shortly thereafter. By Brad Schmitt |
