Dirt Alert: Dirt Man, Tell Us About A Show! |
This appeared in The Tennessean - March 18, 2000 |
From the boss, Tennessean Entertainment Editor Tim (Dirt Man) Ghianni, with another patented Dirt Alert: Care to see and hear a banjo legend on the stage of the Ryman Auditorium again? May 17 will be a historic occasion when Earl Scruggs returns to the former home of the Grand Ole Opry in a special benefit concert for Watkins Institute of Art and to launch a spectacular six-month art display. Earl's accompaniment for the evening is Marty Stuart, a great entertainer and one of the guys who works hard to preserve the history and heritage of country music. The 7 p.m. concert -- presented by the Ryman, Stuart and The Arts Company -- is called "The Great American Folk Boom." Tix -- $27.50 and $22.50 -- will go on sale March 25 at Ticketmaster locations and the Ryman box office. Read more about the art element of this show on Brad's Web page at Tennessean.com. |
