A few weeks ago, I wrote about an orphaned bloodhound named Jed that had stolen country star Marty Stuart's heart. Stuart has a bloodhound and very much wanted to help find a home for Jed, who was residing at Animaland Humane Shelter in Williamson County at the time. As often is the case, star power paid off.
Thanks to the publicity, Jed is now the proud owner of a family who came all the way from Cookeville to adopt him. "He got adopted to a very good home," says Teresa Spence, kennel manager at Animaland. "Another man called from Indiana who wanted him, too. He said he'd seen the article." So the trail ends happily for Jed but Spence reminds us Animaland still has many more wonderful animals up for adoption. "We have lots of nice dogs and cats and other pets," she says. Just in time for Christmas. (Note: Animaland closed in 1997) By Beth Stein |
