This is a press release from June 9, 1995 |
Marty Stuart joined the ranks of Marvel Entertainment's superheroes today with the release of the "Marty Party In Space" comic book, featuring Stuart and his accomplice, the wonder dog, Oscar Lee. Marty was officially inducted into the club of comic book superheroes by Spider-Man himself, who joined Stuart and Oscar Lee on the "Marty Party Trolly" along Nashville's historic lower Broadway Avenue to Marty Party Headquarters at The Great Escape to celebrate. Other guests included characters from "Marty Party In Space", hillbilly aliens and rapper aliens, along with clowns, face painters and dozens of kids.
"I knew that dressing up funny and walking around town with a hound dog would eventually pay off," commented Stuart. "This is a great day for America and country music." Stuart and Spider-Man capped off the event with a public autograph signing for fans in attendance. "Marty Party In Space" comic books are available at the Marty Party Headquarters at The Great Escape and other major comic book retail chains. The two-time Grammy Award-winning country performer and International Ambassador of Tourism for Nashville, is currently touring in support of his MCA Records release, The Marty Party Hit Pack and bulleted single, "If I Ain't Got You." The third of Stuart's four scheduled TNN specials, The Marty Party III, will air September 27 at 8:00 p.m./12 midnight EST with special guests Jerry Lee Lewis, The Mavericks and Steve Earle. In October, Stuart will bring his legendary sound to Japan with Country Gold Festivals. By Lisa Shively |
