A Gallery for Fine Photography is proud to celebrate the publication of Pilgrims: sinners, saints, and prophets, the new book of photographs and writings by country music legend Marty Stuart, with a book signing and artist reception on Saturday, May 27, 2000.

In his new book, Marty Stuart shares his collection of photographs and personal recollections of dozens of "musicians, poets, songwriters, singers, misfits, fans, groupies, clowns, preachers, and various other agents of all sorts." Included are Stuart's up-close-and-personal images and profiles of his fellow country music personalities, capturing the heart and soul of such legends as Roy Acuff, Johnny Cash, Sheryl Crow, Jerry Lee Lewis, Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton, Bonnie Raitt, Earl Scruggs, Kitty Wells, and many more.

For all of its stunning images, though, Pilgrims is not just a photography book. It is a journey into an artist's life, filled with music, God's word, heartbreak, tragedy, and fame. From truck stops to the Grand Ole Opry, Marty Stuart's journey is one filled with people who leave an indelible impression.

Marty Stuart is one of the most popular country music artists of the last decade. He began his career with bluegrass legend Lester Flatt and later toured with Johnny Cash for six years. He has four gold records and three Grammy awards to his credit, has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1992, and is currently president of the Country Music Foundation. Pilgrims is his first book.

On Saturday, May 27, 2000, from 12 to 2 p.m., Marty Stuart will be signing copies of his new book at A Gallery for Fine Photography, located at 322 Royal Street in the French Quarter. A reception for the artist will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. later that day.
