Marty Stuart will hit the
stage Thursday, August 29, at the Five Rocks
Amphitheater in Gering. The fundraiser concert will
be at 6 p.m. and the gates will open at 5 p.m. The
event is for Legacy of the Plains Museums and is a
major fundraiser to support LPM, which incorporates
Farm And Ranch Museum and North Platte Valley
Museum.
Stuart, who began playing mandolin as a child, is
well-known for his traditional country music style,
often blended with a touch of rockabilly and honky
tonk. He has played with Lester Flatt and Johnny
Cash and hosts The Marty Stuart Show on
RFD-TV.
The Superlatives will join Stuart for an evening of
southern, country and gospel music. Sandwiches,
nachos and other refreshments will be available for
purchase prior to and during the concert.
Sponsors for the event include 21st Century
Equipment, Regional West Medical Center and WESTCO.
Fremont Motors is sponsoring the lights and sound.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket
sales will directly benefit LPM.
