A Combination of Country Marty Stuart will perform his combination honky tonk, hillbilly, rock, traditional country and progressive country in the Celebrity Showroom September 28-29. Stuart combines his talent and love for music while he performs songs like "Little Things," "'Til I Found You," "Burn Me Down" and "Arlene. "I really don't know where I fit in the music business," Stuart said. "I just love to work. There are so many things I enjoy doing. The bottom line for me is to make good music and be the best that I can. I don't worry about where my place is. Actually, for most of my life, I've not fit in, and that is fine by me." Lessons From the Best Stuart has become a learned student of his art from playing with such performers as Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. These experiences gave him the inspiration for his most recent recording. At the age of 13, when he was waiting outside Lester Flatt's bus for an autograph, Stuart befriended Roland White, one of Flatt's band members, who encouraged him to pursue his interest in music. One year later, Stuart was a member of Flatt's band. Since then, Stuart has accompanied legendary musicians as well as launched a successful solo career. Stuart will perform at 8 p.m. in the Celebrity Showroom. For tickets call the Nugget at 800-648-1177 or 775-356-3300. |
