Stuart will explore two distinctly different sides
of country with the release of the double album Saturday
Night & Sunday Morning. The ambitious
project features one disc of hell-raising
honky-tonkers, while the other leans toward
introspective gospel. The follow-up to 2012's acclaimed rave-up Nashville, Volume 1: Tear the Woodpile Down, Saturday Night & Sunday Morning is a mix of Stuart originals and his favorite traditionals. Saturday Night, subtitled Rough Around the Edges, features 11 tracks, including George Jones' "Old Old House" and Hank Williams' "I'm Blue, I'm Lonesome." Subtitled Cathedral, Sunday Morning is solemn but not reserved, thanks to its dozen songs, including a Staples Sisters-assisted "Uncloudy Day." Stuart, who also hosts the musical variety series The Marty Stuart Show on RFD-TV, is currently displaying a series of his photographs at Nashville's Frist Center for the Visual Arts and will stage his annual Late Night Jam at the Ryman Auditorium on June 4th during CMA Music Festival week.
