The Kewaunee County Fair would not be complete without a national star to grace its stage and this year is no exception. On July 22 it's going to be a "Marty Party" with four-time Grammy winner Marty Stuart doing a show on the Van's Midway Stage. The Kewaunee County Fair is at the fairgrounds just off Wisconsin 54 in Luxemburg. Marty Stuart started out singing gospel as a child, had a bluegrass stint with Lester Flatt in the 1970s, spent six years with Johnny Cash in the '80s, and came up with his smash "Hillbilly Rock" hits of the '90s. He is a platinum recording artist, Grand Ole Opry Star, stylist, designer, photographer, songwriter, and (first of all, perhaps) leader of the touring and recording band, The Fabulous Superlatives. "We are really pleased to be able to present Marty Stuart at the fair this year," said Alan Hoppe, fair secretary. "It will be a memorable night for all in attendance; this will be special!" Along with Stuart will be regional favorite Geoff Landon & the Wolf Pack performing from 6 to 9:30 p.m. |
