This year, the 2nd Annual Kansas City River Valley Festival will be held at the Liberty Memorial on June 14 and 15. The "celebration of music and BBQ" will once again feature over 70 micro-breweries, BBQ from A to Z, including a whole pork pit, and a variety of music that includes the sounds of Freddy Jones, The Samples, The Bon Ton Soul Accordian Band and feature shows by Marty Stuart and Chris LeDoux on Saturday. Shows start at 4 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Marty Stuart has accomplished what has seemed an impossible dream over the last five years. With his "Marty Party Hit Pack" album release, Marty Stuart has shown that he has his own style of music that makes you feel good and is sure to cause you to dance. Marty is definitely not a novice at the musical aspect of his life. He began playing mandolin at the age of 13. He has also played guitar for country legend Johnny Cash. Making his breakthrough in 1989 with "Hillbilly Rock," Marty has since teamed up with friend Travis Tritt for songs like "The Whiskey Ain't Workin" and "This One's Gonna Hurt You." This song was the title cut to Marty's third album which was also his first gold album. Now, he is on the charts again and climbing fast with "Honky Tonkin's What I Do Best." This single is from Marty's new album and, again, he is teamed up with Travis Tritt. Marty has become one of the most in-demand country music personalities. He has hosted numerous awards shows and has also been involved in numerous tribute projects, including "It's Now Or Never--The Tribute To Elvis" and the "Red Hot + Country AIDS" benefit album. In May, Marty had his own Marvel comic book released for publication. Writer unknown |
