Marty Stuart To Headline Bele Chere Festival

Official Press Release - June 21, 2007

Showcasing local talent is a Bele Chere tradition, as well as hosting some of the hottest artists in the country. From rock superstar Kenny Wayne Shepherd, country legend, Marty Stuart to 90’s rockers, Gin Blossoms, blues artist Shemekia Copeland and 60’s favorites, Lovin’ Spoonful, this year’s Bele Chere is loaded with phenomenal musicians.

Bringing Asheville the heart and soul of southern music, Marty Stuart & The Fabulous Superlatives will entertain all of us on Friday, July 27th at 9:00 p.m. on the Rock n’ Kiss Stage at Coxe Avenue. Country music icon and guitar extraordinaire Marty Stuart is more than a great musician, he is also a lover of America and the South, and the things that make it great. After an amazing career in the 90’s as a platinum-selling recording artist, Stuart has broadened his horizon with more avenues to reflect his true creativity and artistic drive. Stuart is an accomplished photographer, historian, collector, stroyteller, musician, songwriter, and archivist. Stuart wil be accompanied by his first class band The Fabulous Superlatives this year at Bele Chere.

Bele Chere is widely recognized as one of the Southeast’s largest, free, outdoor festivals in the Southeast with an attendance of over 300,000.
