Dominican University will host five-time Grammy® winner Marty Stuart for a performance with his band, The Fabulous Superlatives, on Saturday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lund Auditorium on Dominican’s Main Campus, 7900 West Division Street, River Forest, Illinois.

Stuart has earned legendary status in Nashville for his roles both as popular hitmaker and as unofficial caretaker of country music’s traditional tunes. A multi-instrumentalist whose repertoire spans the genres of rockabilly, honkytonk and bluegrass, his eclectic stage shows feature toe-tapping rock with traditional roots.

From his beginnings backing up the likes of Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash to his successful solo career and current projects in music, television and multimedia, Stuart is celebrating 40 years on the country music scene. He has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1993 and is a board member and former president of the Country Music Foundation, tasked with preserving and teaching the evolving history of country music.

Since 2008, Stuart has hosted The Marty Stuart Show, featuring performances and interviews with Nashville’s biggest stars, as part of RFD-TV’s primetime Saturday night lineup. In recent years he has also won acclaim for his curated historical exhibits of country music and memorabilia, which have been displayed at the Tennessee State Museum, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Autry National Center of the American West.
