he Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival is proud to announce this year's Thursday night headliner: Five time Grammy Award winner, Marty Stuart. From his toe-tappin' honky tonk to his grassroots gospel, Marty Stuart is truly country music's renaissance man. For over four decades, Stuart's songs have topped the charts and earned international acclaim. Stuart will perform Thursday, August 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Henderson Fine Arts Center. The festival will continue with two days of free bluegrass music and activities in Audubon Mill Park.

Sixty odd miles from the birthplace of the "Father of Bluegrass" music, Bill Monroe, situated under the many two-hundred year old shade trees of Audubon Mill Park (site of the original sawmill of naturalist John James Audubon), right on the banks of the mighty Ohio River - in the town that is able to boast that it is "On the Ohio but Never in It" (referring to the historic 1937 Flood in which Henderson, Kentucky was the only City on the Ohio not under water) - you will find perhaps the oldest on-going FREE Bluegrass festival in the United States - Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival.

The 2011 lineup includes Marty Stuart, The Grascals, Bearfoot, The Darrell Webb Band, The HillBenders, Balsam Range, Kings Highway, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Nora Jane Struthers & the Bootleggers, The James King Band, Grass Pistols, The Shade Tree Players, and Keith Vincent.

Tickets for Marty Stuart go on sale July 26. Prices are $20.00 for balcony and $30.00 for downstairs seating. For ordering information call the Henderson Fine Arts Center at (270) 831-9800. For more information about the festival, visit www.BluegrassInThePark.org.
