Five-time Grammy winner Marty Stuart and his “Fabulous Superlatives” lit up The Roxy stage October 15 in West Hollywood. Stuart was in town promoting his latest album Saturday Night / Sunday Morning.

Those who walked into the packed Roxy Theater might have wondered if they were in a bar or a church as Stuart played both sides of the fence supplying a steady dose of both Saturday night country and Sunday morning gospel hits for his loyal fans. Stuart was not afraid to share the microphone with his Superlatives throughout the evening as he gave each of them a solo or two that was accompanied by tight, ear-pleasing harmonies.

One of the highlights of the set for the packed house was Stuart’s graceful, effortless mandolin solo in which he was illuminated by a single spotlight while the rest of the band disappeared off stage highlight the Country legend’s gracefully style. It has been a while since the country star played in Southern California, but he definitely did not disappoint and sounds better than ever.
