Country music star Marty Stuart has talked with business and community leaders about locating a museum in Philadelphia to house his memorabilia.

The Neshoba Democrat reports that Stuart, a Philadelphia native, and his wife recently talked with the Mississippi Country Music Commission about the project.

Talks about opening a facility to house Stuart's collection began a year ago. No cost estimate has been released. The center would be constructed with private, local and state funds.

Stuart's proposal calls the center to be constructed in the style of a cabin or house on Stuart's property in northern Neshoba County about 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia. Stuart envisions a combination of a museum, theater and classroom.
