Marty's endowment includes personal items that once belonged to Johnny Cash, Lester Flatt and Hank Williams. One of the items is a suitcase that Hank had with him on the night that he died, January 1, 1953. Connie presented several artifacts of her own, including a stage outfit and a studio acetate of her debut hit, "Once a Day," which was given to her the day she recorded it in 1964. Marty had requested that the ceremony be held on February 13, deeming his gifts a "Valentine of Love" to the Museum. The ceremony featured performances by Marty and his Fabulous Superlatives band, Connie and special guests Vince Gill and Ricky Skaggs.
