Marty Stuart explained that he grew up in Mississippi listening to the Opry with his Dad. At 13, he joined Lester Flatt and played the Opry at the Ryman. He met Roy Acuff and Tex Ritter and became friends with their bands. He hung out with Stringbean and Grandpa Jones, got to know Bill Monroe, and played rock 'n' roll with Bob Dylan. But he came back home to country where he joined the Johnny Cash entourage, married and divorced Cindy Cash before hanging his own hillbilly star on the Opry door.
