"Marty, after 28 years of being on the road, has decided to take some time off from touring. He's looking forward to spending time with his wife and family and maybe kicking back a little, too. But, as you know, music is in his blood and he doesn't sit still for very long. Marty will be working with other artists, doing movie scores, playing the Opry, writing songs, performing for benefits and working hard at being President of the Country Music
Foundation. So, as of January 1st, Marty will start unpacking. After nearly three decades of life-out-of-a-suitcase, it may take him the whole year to finish.
As for the fan club, things will stay the same for now. He has always been loyal to his fans and he has no plans to change that. He knows how loyal the fans have been to him and he would never jeopardize that friendship. He also knows that, as fans, we will still be here waiting for his return.
Please remember that Marty and the Rock & Roll Cowboys have played a lot of years together and this is very hard on all of them. But this is also a great opportunity for them to step back, take a deep breath and figure out what lies ahead for them. You have not heard or seen the last of these great musicians, only the beginning." -- Jodee Stocki
